Sophomore Council preps for Spirit Week and future fundraising

Marissa Ho

During this week’s meeting, the sophomore council and students discussed Fall Spirit Week, breakfast sales and a community service project. Students signed up for Spirit Week events, and those interested in participating but were unable to make it to the meeting may contact a council member or one of the class advisers, Jeanine Gomez or Sharyn O’Keefe. The Fall Breakfast Sale, hosted by the Sophomore Council on Oct. 24, raised $120. The class may hold another breakfast sale in November. The upcoming community service project discussed was for Wreaths Across America, a foundation that places wreaths on the graves of fallen veterans. The event will take place on Dec. 17 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle. Wreaths Across America will sponsor one wreath for every wreath the sophomore class sponsors. Students will be able to volunteer to assist in the event, with more details to be released soon.
