  • As lunch reaches its halfway point, sophomore Ben Hewson of Fair Haven, who has finished eating, listens to his friends talk. The sophomores could relax all lunch period, unlike the juniors and seniors who both had mandatory class meetings second half of lunch.

  • Juniors gathered in room 207 for a mandatory Class of 2019 meeting during second half of lunch. President Erica Sammarco of Colts Neck explains the Fall Spirit Week events, including the updated Penny Wars competition.

  • Since Chemistry teacher Erin Wheeler was absent from class, students completed a review sheet. They will be tested tomorrow or Friday on Chapter 8, which is about covalent bonding.

  • Lilah Nathanson of Long Branch ate a strawberry flavored yogurt at lunch. The yogurt brand is Chobani, and there are 120 calories in each cup.

  • After a long morning of classes, junior Grace Treshock of Monmouth Beach is excited to get a snack from the vending machine. Luckily the vending machine had Cheez-its today, which are her favorite.

  • Students head to their first period classes on both floors. The bell rings at 7:30 and first period officially begins at 7:35.

  • With all the freshmen sitting in their locker pods for lunch, the lockers get closed easily. One freshman has had enough of it and left a warning on their locker.

  • As the lunch period comes to an end, junior Jessica Seldner of Tinton Falls aims to defeat sophomore Axl Chaco of Ocean after a surprising defeat the first game. Seldner has never left without winning a second time, and went on to win two more games after.

  • Radio homework and a class meeting to discuss next week’s Spirit Week keeps junior Kaitlyn Hammond of Wall busy during lunch today. In the last five minutes of the hour, she grabs the supplies she needs for English, her next class.

  • Lunch is a time for all students to relax. Here, senior Jack Lipanovski of Tinton Falls leans in to speak to one of his friends. Lipanovski had recently spent over $30 on a headband, which became the butt of many jokes.
