Day one of Spring Spirit Week began on Monday, Apr. 16 with Twin Day and Cupcake Wars.
On Twin Day, each student picked a ‘twin,’ or friend to dress identical to. All grades received full participation points for the day.
Twin Day is a favorite event for sophomore Nicole Sestito of Wall.
“Twin Day is one of my favorite days of Spirit Week because I love getting to match with my friends,” Sestito said. “I definitely look forward to Twin Day when Spirit Week comes around.”
The event held at lunch to kick off Spirit Week was Cupcake Wars. Each grade created a display of cupcakes centered around this year’s theme, villains. A panel of CHS teachers judged the displays based on presentation, taste, creativity and more.
Sophomores took first place in Cupcake Wars, with freshmen coming in second, seniors in third and juniors in fourth.
Sophomore Julia Rocco of Marlboro helped lead the Class of 2020 to victory and enjoyed participating in the event.
“I loved setting up the presentation, and everyone got to eat cupcakes at the end so all of the hard work was worth it,” Rocco said. “We had a lot of fun and got so much done.”
Currently, the sophomores are in first place with 30 points, the freshmen are in second with 25 points, the seniors are in third with 20 points and the juniors are in last with 15 points.
Tomorrow’s theme is Pajama Day with Minute to Win It at lunch.
