Battle of the Bands is an annual event at CHS which allows students to showcase their natural musical talent.  Senior Kyle Gavin of Middletown created the event his freshman year.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all of the bands getting to showcase their talent to everyone who comes, as well as everyone getting to see all of the hard work that my committee heads put into making this event possible,” Galvin said. “There’s so many talented people in this school from every grade, and this is just another opportunity for people to get to see the incredible work that they put into what they do.”

All the bands want to have the time of their lives up on the stage but also want to send an overall message to the entire audience, said junior Kevin Clark of Spring Lake.

“The main message of our band is to have fun, live life, and play good music,” Clark said.

The bands also want the audience to remember them in a way that makes them feel positive and always have a love for music.

Freshman Jacynth Apora of Englishtown is excited for her first Battle of the Bands.

“I want the audience to remember that we’re just doing it for fun and because we honestly love music,” Apora said. “Also, our harmonies are pretty cool.”

Clark and his band hope to involve the audience.

“I’d like the audience to remember having fun during our performance and be unable to dance because of how hard we rock,” Clark said.

This event is going to be one of the main highlights of this school year, and it’s exciting to see what each band will bring to the table during the showcase.
