BY EMMA WILENTA - It may have seemed that CHS suddenly had more teachers on Tuesday, April 27, but only because of the theme of the second day of Spring Spirit Week: Dress Like a Teacher. The sophomores won today’s Jenga competition, the first time the game has been a part of Spirit Week according to SGA.

Spring Spirit Week began today at CHS with the traditional Pajama Day. Each grade was awarded a score based on students’ participation in dressing according to the theme.

The PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) is New Jersey’s latest addition to its repertoire of standardized tests. According to PARCCOnline.org, the PARCC is a computer-based test that has been aligned with the highly controversial Common Core Standards.

By EMMA WILENTA - On Friday, March 13, the Cultural Communications Club hosted the annual Cultural Communications Festival to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year’s theme of “Giving Around the World in 180 Minutes” brought together various cultures from around the globe and raised $2,500 for a charitable cause, said club adviser Sabina Campbell.

CHS students discovered that the Wi-Fi connections on their phones, tablets, laptops and other devices were terminated. Since that morning, students have not been able to access the school’s network.

Career Day at CHS gave students an opportunity to browse classrooms and speak to professionals, each giving advice on how to attain success in their own field, followed by the keynote speech given by P.J. By CAYLA HARRIS - An online invitation showed up in the Class of 2015 email box Tuesday morning that asked class members to edit a document titled “Senior Prank Ideas.” Those who did quickly faced disciplinary action, they said.

BY EMMA MCCAFFREY - This year’s Winter Ball came with a price – $10 per ticket before Winter Break and $12 per ticket after Winter Break. The sophomore class’s Winter Ball boasted the highest price tag of any dance this year.
