By ANNA ROBINSON - Cloudy skies and humidity did not stop Thompson Park festivities for the Class of 2018. Although the day began overcast and drizzly, the skies soon cleared, the sun came out, and freshmen played ice-breaking games and met new people.

First day Italian ices warm students’ cold feet

Students sported red, white and blue tie-dyed tongues while enjoying rainbow Italian ices on the patio at the end of school today. This “sweet” kickoff marked the second time the Student Government Association, now under the leadership of chemistry teacher Erin Wheeler, has provided students with Italian ices following the first day assembly.

INKY 2014: Shooting play gets strong reaction

The Actors Playground performance of “Bang Bang You’re Dead” at CHS on Dec. 6 left audience members shot through the heart. Students and faculty had the opportunity to see the play, as performed by the Freehold acting troupe that included three CHS students. The focus of the play is on gun violence in schools.

INKY 2014: Signature Project Inks its mark

Faculty members and students signed their names last Friday to become a part of The Signature Project, a mural comprised of 400,000 signatures. Patrick Dunning, the creator of the mural, gave a multimedia assembly last Friday, sponsored by the Parent Student Faculty Association.

INKY 2014: Government shutdown hits local community

August 20, 2014
The federal government was shut down on Oct. 1 after lawmakers in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate were unable pass a budget to continue its funding. After 16 days, a resolution in the Senate ended the shut-down and temporarily funded the government through Jan. 15.

Color Wars starts with Tug of War

When Color Wars starts at 9 a.m. tomorrow, members of all 10 teams will face their first test – the Tug of War. The competition has been an event since Color Wars started in 2003, said fitness teacher Virginia Clevenger.
