It was a magical dream. CHS students and guests put on their best attire for the fairytale-themed Homecoming Dance on Friday, Nov. 4. The sold-out dance was sponsored by SkillsUSA and NTHS with over 250 students in attendance.

As students arrived, they had the opportunity to sign their names and draw on the magical “Once Upon a Time” wall. Students danced throughout the night, making it an enjoyable time for everyone.

Freshman Dan Connors of Wall had a great time at the Homecoming dance. He enjoyed dancing and being together with the entire school.

“It was really fun, even though it took a little long to get lit,” Connors said. “I also thought the decorations were pretty cool.”

Students voted for Homecoming royalty via Google Form and the Homecoming Queen and King were announced at the end of the night. Senior Amanda Riordan of Manasquan won Homecoming Queen. SkillsUSA advisor and math teacher Scott Stengele was crowned Homecoming King.

“I was really surprised. I wasn’t expecting it or ready. I wasn’t ready for all the pictures either so that was a little stressful,” Riordan said after being named Homecoming Queen. “Overall, it was really awesome. I felt really appreciated and it was sweet because a lot of people came up to me afterward to congratulate me.”

SkillsUSA Co-President and senior Sarah Rau of Manalapan thanked all members of SkillsUSA for their hard work. From the decorations to the music selection, the night would not be possible without all of their help.

“Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put it together. It was a really good team and everyone did a great job,” Rau said. “I think overall it was a success and everyone had a good time.”
