SkillsUSA regains the Halloween Dance

Skills USA hosted the annual Halloween dance on Friday, Oct. 28. The club regained ownership of the dance after the freshman class hosted it last year. The night was Halloween movie themed.  Advertisements for the event featured photoshopped posters of CHS teachers on movie posters.

SkillsUSA advisor and math teacher Deborah Maher felt that the dance was a huge success for the club.

“Everyone was dancing. Everyone was having fun. It was a great night for Skills,” Maher said.

The event raised $620 for the club with the proceeds helping to alleviate the cost of competition for club members, said SkillsUSA treasurer Erin Wren of Wall.

“It was really important that we got the Halloween dance back this year,” Wren said. “The cost of competition was becoming an issue for some members so we knew it was important to raise funds with this dance.”
