Quick and easy brownies

Sarah McNey

Being a high school student with a busy schedule, I can never find the time to bake anymore. I missed having a steady supply of desserts on hand to satisfy my sweet tooth.

I scoured the aisles of Shoprite for a quick chocolate fix, and pre-made brownie mix became my new best friend. Though it’s usually considered a lazy alternative, the Pillsbury Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix always leaves my friends and family wondering what my secret recipe is.

I’ve baked these brownies for parties, bake sales, and more, and it’s never long before the tray is empty. Plus, by sprinkling on some powdered sugar and chocolate chips, I can easily transform these brownies into an Instagram-worthy dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Pillsbury Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup water
  • ⅔ vegetable oil
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
  • Chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat the bottom of a pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine brownie mix, oil, water, and eggs in a large bowl and stir 50 strokes or until a batter is formed. Then, spread into prepared pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 28 to 31 minutes. Cut and serve; top with powdered sugar and chocolate chips if desired.
